With the expertise that comes with a paralegal degree, 20 years of construction experience, and 17 years of full time claims adjusting practice – we guarantee excellent service, sincere, honest practice and a staff that is motivated to be an advocate for you. It is our mission to provide services that allow you to make the decision that will help safeguard what is rightfully yours. We are your advocate in property damage insurance claims.
Advocate Public Adjustment, LLC will help put the authority for making decisions with whom you can trust it most – you. Insurance adjusters specialize in keeping home insurance claim payout amounts very low. Even if your insurance adjuster is not working against you, which is very rare, he will be responsible for many home insurance claims at once, and could be making huge mistakes with your money. You can help negate all of these issues by filing your own claim if you desire and think you have the time, patience and negotiating skills.
Here are some general tips for filing your home insurance claim:
• Know your policy before making a homeowner insurance claim. Policies are a contract between you and your insurance company. Be informed regarding what is covered, what is not – and what the deductibles are. If you have any questions about the policy, the time to ask is before you need to make a claim. No sense filing the claim if it doesn’t make dollar sense to do so.
• When filing a home insurance claim, Advocate Public Adjustment, LLC will notify the insurance claims hotline immediately. Your policy may require that you make the notification within a certain time frame. We handle everything from start to finish.
• Use of a lawyer – there are times when scope issues develop and or the claim is denied and the services of an attorney may be needed. We do not provide legal advice and when these problems develop you will need a good BAD FAITH Litigation attorney. It is our opinion through our 17 years that there are only a few good ones that specialize in this field of practice.
• Document, document, document. Keeping tabs is important both before you need to make a home insurance claim as well as after you need to make one. Save receipts for items you buy. Photographs and videotapes of your home, both before and after a disaster takes place, are also helpful. Most importantly, take photos or videos of the damage before you begin cleaning or start the repair process.
• Make temporary repairs. If your home is damaged, make whatever temporary repairs you need to protect it, and you, from further damage or injury. These repairs are usually covered by your home owner insurance. Claim advice like this may seem slight, but it can make a big difference. Remember – do not begin any permanent repairs until speaking to us. And, if you make any temporary repairs, be sure to keep copies of your bills, just in case.
Make the decision that will help safeguard what is rightfully yours.
